[Visit the sake brewery of the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System "Osaki Kōdo"]
The Osaki region of Miyagi Prefecture (Osaki City, Shikama Town, Kami Town, Wakuya Town) has produced many agricultural products, such as the three major grains of rice, wheat, and soybeans, and traditional vegetables unique to the region, while coexisting with the harsh natural environment. Misato) has been certified as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System as "Osaki Kodo".
This area has developed as a rice paddy farming area, making use of the valleys and wetlands in the basins of the Eai River and the Naruse River.
However, problems such as droughts and floods caused by cold weather damage due to the cold and wet monsoon "Yamase" peculiar to the Pacific Ocean side of Tohoku and droughts and floods caused by the change of terrain from steep slopes in the mountains to gentle slopes in the plains are causing problems for people. It bothers me.
In order to maintain food and livelihood in a harsh natural environment, "Osaki Kodo" is the land that has developed through various wisdom and ingenuity in adjusting "water".
The entire Osaki Kōdo, which continues to carry on the traditional farming culture, is the Field Museum, with its world-renowned water management system, igune mansion forests, and more.
We will introduce sake and local beer breweries that make use of the rich water and climate of Osaki Kodo.
