The Yoichi Distillery, nestled in the harsh northern land where sea breezes sweep in—a place discovered in his prime by Masataka Taketsuru, founder of Nikka Whisky and the father of Japanese whisky. There, the rich Yoichi single malt, born from the now rare coal-fired direct-fire distillation, is further matured. Characterized by a woody, sweet oak aroma and ripe banana-like fruit notes, alongside a powerful, complex malt fragrance. It offers a pear-like fruitiness and a peaty flavor reminiscent of smoked wood. Its defining feature is a long finish where rich body and the aromatic smokiness of peat harmonize.
